Standing for God in a Shaking World: Standing for Israel

Biblical Facts About Israel:

1. Israel is the only nation created by God.

Genesis 12:1–3 (NKJV)
Now the Lord had said to Abram: “Get out of your country, from your family And from your father’s house, To a land that I will show you. I will make you a great nation; I will bless you and make your name great; And you shall be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”

2. Israel is in an everlasting covenant with God.

Genesis 17:5–8 (NKJV)
No longer shall your name be called Abram, but your name shall be Abraham; for I have made you a father of many nations. I will make you exceedingly fruitful; and I will make nations of you, and kings shall come from you. And I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you in their generations, for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and your descendants after you. Also I give to you and your descendants after you the land in which you are a stranger, all the land of Canaan, as an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.

3. Israel and the Jews have blessed the world more than any nation on Earth.

Genesis 12:3 (NKJV)
And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.

4. Israel is God's prophetic super-sign and stopwatch.

Joel 3:1–2 (NKJV)
For behold, in those days and at that time, When I bring back the captives of Judah and Jerusalem, I will also gather all nations, and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat; and I will enter into judgment with them there On account of My people, My heritage Israel, Whom they have scattered among the nations; They have also divided up My land.

Genesis 17:6–8 (NKJV)
I will make you exceedingly fruitful; and I will make nations of you, and kings shall come from you. And I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you in their generations, for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and your descendants after you. Also I give to you and your descendants after you the land in which you are a stranger, all the land of Canaan, as an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.

Important historical facts:

1. Israel is the only nation on the earth created directly by God.

2. Israel is the only place on the earth specifically given by God to a specific group as an everlasting possession.

3. There has never been a time in the past 4000 years that Jews haven't lived in the land of Israel.

4. After being conquered by Rome in A.D.70, the Roman Emperor Hadrian changed the provincial name of Israel from Judea to Palestine to punish the Jews and wipe out Jewish nationalism.

5. As a result of being conquered and many Jews being held captive by the Romans, they were eventually scattered around the world, but they couldn't find a place to settle where they weren't persecuted - especially in Russia and Europe.

6. There was still a remnant of Jews living in Israel, but in the late 18th century more Jews began migrating back. This continued into the 19th and 20th centuries.

Revelation 12:3–9 (NKJV)
And another sign appeared in heaven: behold, a great, fiery red dragon having seven heads and ten horns, and seven diadems on his heads. His tail drew a third of the stars of heaven and threw them to the earth. And the dragon stood before the woman who was ready to give birth, to devour her Child as soon as it was born. She bore a male Child who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron. And her Child was caught up to God and His throne. Then the woman fled into the wilderness, where she has a place prepared by God, that they should feed her there one thousand two hundred and sixty days. And war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought with the dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought, but they did not prevail, nor was a place found for them in heaven any longer. So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

We must stand with God and Israel in this most important time and defend them to those who would try to spread lies and hatred about them.

Genesis 12:3 (NKJV)
I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you; and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”
